Quick Recap of Bee Cave Central Park
Location: Bee Cave, TX
My son Kyle’s favorite place to be is outside, and I get this request about a million times a day. Aside from mama and dada, outside was one of the first words he learned.
To satisfy his obsession, we spend a LOT of our day outside, so I’m always looking for new places to go. The other day I took him to Bee Cave Central Park, which I had seen en route to my new Chick Fil A (we just moved) and was very curious about it.
Pros
- Paved trails
- Playground and basketball court
- Ample parking
- Would be a great place to take a stroller, scooter, or trike
Cons
- Very little shade
- Poison ivy under trees once you get off the trail
Since the playground was closed due to coronavirus restrictions, there wasn’t a ton we could do since Kyle was only 1 1/2 at the time. So, we set out a picnic blanket and he ran around the grassy meadow off the main trail, happy as a clam.
One of the things I love most about being a mom is that children make you slow down and appreciate the little things in life. All he needed was a big grassy field and a mama with his sippy cup, and he was having a great afternoon. I enjoyed watching him run around and just be glad to be outside.
We may or may not have stopped at Chick Fil A on the way home for a frozen lemonade. Those things get me through!
