Hunting,  Hunting Stories,  Meanwhile Back at the Ranch

My Deer Blind

My deer blind is pretty unique. As is my mother’s sense of humor.

When I first got this blind, my mom thought it would be hysterical to paint it like a woman’s face.

Two window flaps on the front side reminded her of eyelids, and she just couldn’t help painting eyes. Then she couldn’t help adding lips, a nose, eyebrows, earrings, hair, and a ponytail bow in the back.

Shortly after seeing this creation, my brother nicknamed the blind “the Lady in a Cage” after the movie of the same name. Over time that nickname simply turned into “the Lady Cage.”

So if you ever come hunting on our farm, there’s a good chance you’ll end up in the Lady Cage.

This is what happens when you give a woman a can of spray paint!
