I am a 6th generation Texan, born and raised in San Antonio. The outdoors have always been a part of my life–I grew up backpacking through the national parks, kayaking, hunting and fishing on our farm in South Texas, and competing in skeet shooting tournaments. These experiences left me with a lifelong love of nature. I went to Texas A&M University and studied natural resource conservation, and afterwards I moved to Washington, DC to work for a Member of Congress (from Texas, of course.) When I came back to Texas, I helped former First Lady Laura Bush start a conservation initiative called Texan by Nature. Nowadays, I live in Austin with my husband and our corgi. I spend my time getting outdoors in my home state as much as possible, taking on projects at my family’s farm, writing for Texas Wildlife magazine, and traveling every time I get the chance.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this blog answers any questions you may have about outdoor pursuits and inspires you to try something new.
